Eddie the Bear

When I came across the Primrose Cottage Bears Facebook page a while back, I instantly fell in love with the beautifully handmade bears posing in the gorgeous surroundings of Primrose Cottage. When I looked further at Valerie's website (http://www.primrosecottagebears.co.uk/) and looked at the individual bears, I stopped at 'Eddie' and thought "I have to have this bear!". There was something about his handsome little face, which I'm starting to realise is because he looks a little bit like my dog, Jingle, that captured my heart! Originally I said to the OH I wanted him for my birthday, but Eddie increasingly took over my thoughts, and when Valerie mentioned she would be in my local town for a wedding and could bring him along, I knew I wouldn't be able to wait until September. And so here he is, sitting pride of place on the wicker chair in my bedroom:

Read All About It!

I was in the Cambridge News yesterday - so very exciting! Not only have I got a whole double-page spread, me and Jingle are on the front page, alongside Sir Ian McKellan:

In the article I'm interviewed about my M.E. - how it started and gradually got worse, as well as about my needle felt birds. I just can't quite believe how huge the article is. It is so beautifully written, too. It is available to read online, just click here.

My Mum, Dad and sister came to visit us, too, yesterday and so we had a little shopping trip in Ely. I couldn't resist having my photograph taken outside of the Cathedral with my paper (is that a little bit sad?!) Either way, I'm just really pleased with the article. And I hope it raises some awareness of M.E.

My New Bicycle

I have wanted to buy a traditional bicycle with a basket on front for years now, and finally my dream has come true - I have been trying to save up for a while now, but more practical things seemed to get in the way! But at last, I have given in to my urges and treated myself - and I am totally in love with it!

But for those of you who may know me, you may ask :why on earth I would buy a bicycle when I suffer from M.E.?! And that is a perfectly sensible question to ask, but I'm afraid nothing sensible even came into the equation when buying this beauty! I have ridden it twice so far, which may have led me to overdo it, and to consequently have to spend the next day in bed... but it was worth it! We still have to have some pleasures in life, right!? And even if my M.E. means I can only ride my bike once a week for 10 minutes, then so be it - I am still in love with my new bicycle!

And I was even silly enough to get my newest make, this little Blackbird, to pose on the bicycle before I mounted him onto his branch! He looks like he was having fun, anyway!
